Rejected from Writer's Arc

Just got my rejection call. Unfortunately, my cell didn't ring, so I got their voicemail. Probably just as well.

I'll write more later... good luck to the others!

I'm sorry to hear that. Making it that far is a great accomplishment. And judging from your writing (I've just read your one page from House--excellent stuff), you've got nothing to worry about. You'll get 'em next time.

Ain't no thing but a chicken wing.

You made it far, so that says a lot.

I always check out your site and look forward to your updates.

Well, that makes two of us. It's all up to Chris to represent the scribosphere! I hope he makes it! Sorry to hear this. Better luck next time!

Alas, I too was given the bin. It sounded from their e-mail that they were making decisions up to the last minute that I was out of the running. Who can say? But hey, for my first time putting the first thing that I've ever written out there, it's good to know that I'm at least in the ballpark. I will post on it in the morning.

Sorry to hear about that, and same to Gurl and Chris. :-(

But now that great idea is all YOURS!!!

You know the one I mean...

PS. I never really got caught up in the competition, scholarship stuff -- I never got caught up in the "wanting to get an agent"...I just wanted to sell a script and get a movie made...and maybe that's why I did it (I probably should have revised that to "get a GOOD movie made, alas). Yes, enter them all, but keep your eyes on the prize. Condolences, but...courage.

Congrats on getting as far as you did -- didn't they have like, thousands of entries? And considering the caliber of your colleagues who also didn't get in... Perseverance! Onward and upward!!!

Well...you still have us :)

Congratulations are still in order on making it to the finals and for all the hard work you did on preparing your pitch. Consider it a dry run for your inevitable success.

Sorry to hear that, Shawna. You gave it a great effort, and one day soon, your hard work will be rewarded.

Keep at it --

Sorry to hear, Shawna. But as others have noted, it's definitely a measure of your talent and future success that you progressed this far.

Onwards and upwards! Excelsior!

Might as well just turn pro. :)

Awww, thanks everybody! I'm doing fine today, only once did I think, 'dang, I wish I was getting an extra 7500 smackers for Xmas shopping'

Sorry for the delay in posting a follow up. Look for articles tomorrow and my wrap up for the Writer's Arc Fellowship.

Hope you are all staying warm!

Shawna, rejection sucks. Truly. Ben and Jerry don't help and neither does Jose Cuervo. I moped for a month when I didn't advance in either the Nicholl or the AFF. A pity party is not enough. Have a gigantic pity festival. It will be a lot like getting so drunk on pity and so hung over that you never want to get drunk on it again. It works. And, you'll be fine. Trust me on this.
